ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an assembly comprising a slab for lining an ingot mould or head box and a hanger rod for hanging the slab in the mould or head box, the rod having a first portion for connection to the mould and a second portion for engagement with the slab, a member anchored in the body of the slab and having a part projecting from a face of the slab, the second portion of the rod and the projecting part of the member anchored in the slab having complementary engaging means, a plurality of the en- gaging means being located in either the second portion of the rod or the projecting part of the member so that the rod and slab may be inter-engaged at different positions. Typically there may be two hanger rods for each assembly and two members anchored in each slab. - 1 -
