ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A slide fastener stringer with a meandering coupling element has successive sections each including a head with diverging legs attached thereto, each section being connected to adjacent sections by interconnecting portions connected to the legs, the interconnecting portions being flattened to hold a cord extending between the legs of successive sections. The coupling element is attached to a woven tape by interwoven weft threads that pass around both the cord and the interconnecting portions.
