Abstract of the Disclosure A cardboard blank for producing a parallel-sided packing has a longitudinal alignment of four generally quadrangular side panels articulated in succession in pairs by parallel transverse fold lines. Extensions of the side panels provide closing flaps located laterally beyond longitudinal fold lines. One of the flaps has ears on two opposed lateral edges, these ears being extensions of the flap. Each ear is separated from the flap by a fold line perpendicular to an adjacent longitudinal fold line. A strip is fastened by its ends to the ears and extends in a flat condition over said one flap from one eat to the other. By folding the ears over against the flap and fastening the folded-over ears to the flap, the free median part of the strip forms a handle projecting from the flap.
