Abstract A process for making a stable chemical complex of iodine, an iodide ion and a dermatologically acceptable room temperature tacky pressure-sensitive adhesive which is substantially free of acidic components. The resulting composition exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity when placed in contact with mammalian skin and is useful in or on tapes, drapes, and other medical devices.
