ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A foldable ski has front and rear ski sections with end faces defining a junction of the sections. The sections have longitudinally extending guides formed in their lateral surfaces and a connecting hinge for connecting the front section to the rear section at the junction, whereby the guides of the front ski section are in alignment with the guides of the rear ski section and the end faces contact each other at the junction in an unfolded extended position of the ski sections. The connecting hinge includes at least one substantially U-shaped hinge part spanning the junction between the front and rear ski sections and arranged in recesses in the end faces, the hinge part being attached to the respective ski sections by means of hinge pins passing transversely to the respective ski sections through free ends of legs of the U-shaped hinge part. A U-shaped stabilizing device has inwardly extending engaging means on each leg and is slidably mounted on one of the ski sections in the folded position and is adapted to cover the junction of the ski sections in the unfolded position, so that the engaging means engage the guides of the ski sections to effect the stabilized positioning of the front ski section to the rear ski section. A lock is also provided for fixing the stabilized positioning.
