Case 2674 CONTACT BUTTON AND CLIP FOR PLUG FUSEHOLDER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plug fuseholder has a housing for retaining a plug fuse and an electrically conductive clip or bus clip. The bus clip is adapted to grasp a bus bar of a fusible loadcenter. An electrically conductive contact button or disc is provided having a shank and is formed from a material selected from the group consisting of copper, copper alloys, silver and silver alloys. The material chosen is to have good thermal and improved electrical conduction properties. The bus clip is provided with an opening for receiving the shank of the contact disc. The disc and shank have first and second major surfaces. The first surface is in electrical and thermal contacting relationship with the bus clip. A portion of the second surface is in electrical and thermal contacting relationship with a line terminal of the fuse. Prior art fuseholders do not provide such a disc and maximum loading conditions may result in damage to the fuseholder housing. The disc and shank in the present invention reduce the risk of the housing being damaged prior to the fuse blowing.
