- 1 - Abstract: A roller retainer for a cam actuated vehicle brake system comprises a spring wire with two ends which is formed to provide a generally "U" shaped manual grip, a pair of substantially parallel legs and a portion inter- mediate each leg. The manual grip is curved at one location to project in one direction from a reference plane defined by the manual grip and is sharply bent to return in the direction of this plane. The grip is also formed at a second location to project again in the one direction relative to the plane whereby each end of the spring wire will project in such one direction from the same side of the reference plane.
