CANADA "IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO AN INDUSTRIAL TRUCK HAVING A ROTATABLE AND TRANSLATABLE LOAD CARRIER" Abstract of the disclosure An industrial truck which has a load carrier, for example a pair of lifting tines, which is rotatable about a vertical axis and independently translatable in a horizontal plane. A respective power transmission conveys power for producing the rotary and translational movements. At least one motor is coupled to one of the power transmissions and a further transmission, preferably in the form of a chain drive and including a clutch, can connect and disconnect the two power transmissions. In a preferred arrangement there is a respective motor for rotary and translational movement of the load carrier and the clutch is an electromagnetic, slippable clutch which is disengaged when one or other of the movements of the load carrier reaches a limit.
