Abstract of the Disclosure An input/output controller is provided for use in conjunction with a microprocessor unit. The controller has serial transmit/ receive capability, parallel input/output capability, interval timer capability, and vectored interrupt capability. The con- troller is an MOS N-channel device on a single chip and is pack- aged in a 40 pin package. The controller is compatible with a Model TMS 8080 microprocessor unit.
