Abstract of the Disclosure A method of producing a wet non-woven material which comprises forming a non-woven material by dewatering a suspension containing unstretched polyester fibres as binding fibres, drying the non-woven material at temperatures below 180°C thereby thermally presolidifying and bonding the fibres, and subjecting the non-woven material to calendering to further solidify it at temperatures above 180°C and a linear pressure of more than 30 kg/cm2. Also included is the non-woven material obtained by this method which has particular utility in the production of insulation for the electronics industry.
