12.12.1978 1 PHN 9171 ABSTRACT: Method of manufacturing electrode systems and electrode systems thus manufactured. A method of manufacturing an electrode system comprising at least two conductors positioned at a predetermined distance from each other by means of insulation materials In order to remove burrs from the facing surfaces of the conductors, the electrode system is immersed in a dielectric liquid and for deburring the conductors an electric potential diffe- rence is then applied between said conductors which is sufficiently large to generate an electric flash-over between the conductors. As a result of the small free path length in the dielectric liquid it is prevented that metal sputtered from the conductors can deposit on the insulating parts of the electrode system. The invention may be used in the manufacture of electron gun systems, colour selection electrodes with post-focusing effect for colour display tubes and printed circuit boards having conductive tracks extending closely beside each other.
