ABSTRACT A multi-layer blow oriented container is produced by providing a multi-layer tubular structure periodically heat sealing opposite sides of the tubular structure to one another at preselected locations along the length thereof, severing sections of the tubular form to provide a multiplicity of generally cylindrical preforms heating and blow orienting the cylindrical preform into a desired configuration. In the preferred embodiment the tubular structure contains a crosslinkable layer which is crosslinked after heat sealing to Provide crosslinked heat seal areas.
