ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A generator circuit employing binary logic elements is provided for use in generating a phase-coherent binary frequency-shift keyed signal having a frequency deviation ratio of one-half. Two embodiments of a self- synchronizing demodulator for demodulating an FSK signal of this type are provided. The self-synchronizing demodulator used in a system having an FSK signal of this type can receive faster pulse trains than can be received with any other binary FSK of PSK system of equal bandwidth, signal-to-noise ratio and error rate.
