ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A new detergent filler to replace sodium sulphate is calcium sulphate, especially gypsum, coated with a substantially water-insoluble calcium salt such as calcium carbonate, calcium silicate, calcium sulphite, calcium orthophosphate, hydroxyapatite or a calcium salt of an alkanoic acid having about 12 to about 22 carbon atoms.
