NOVEL METHOD FOR PREPARING ALKYLTIN TRIHALIDES Abstract of the Disclosure - Alkyltin trihalides are prepared by reacting a stannous halide with the corresponding alkyl halide in the presence of specific catalysts. By conducting the reaction under superatmospheric pressure the amount of catalyst required is significantly reduced. Recycling the catalyst decreases process costs and improves the yield of organotin trihalide. -i-
