ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a universal joint of the type in which two rota- table shafts are drivingly connected by torque transmitting mechanisms, each shaft being grooved, the grooves being dis- posed in cooperative paired relationship and being adapted to at least partially contain the torque mechanisms, improved operation may be achieved by providing a bearing assembly between the torque transmitting mechanism and one of the grooves to assist relative movement therebetween. The torque transmitting mechanism are preferably circumferentially spaced at least about 180° from the next adjacent torque trans- mitting mechanism.
