PIT AND FISSURE SEALANT FOR TEETH Abstract An inorganic, enamel-like sintered coating (or sealant) adherent to teeth is disclosed. Materials very similar to tooth enamel, e.g., hydroxyapatite, combined with a low melting eutectic constitute the coating. This material can be applied to the tooth and sintered in place with a laser. The presence of the low melting eutectic lowers the energy requirement for sintering.
