8.11.79 1 PHN.9308 ABSTRACT "Shaving apparatus" The invention relates to a shaving apparatus having a drivable cutting unit with cutters, each cutter being equipped with a lead cutter having a contact edge at the ends, which lead cutter is situated foremost in the direction of driving and is movable relative to the cutter. The lead cutters serve to slightly pull up the hairs before they are severed by the associated cutter. However, the distance through which the hairs can be pulled up is limited by the shape and dimensions of the lead cutter. In order to overcome this limitation the lead cutter is provided with a projecting portion at the end, which portion is provided with the contact edge.
