Abstract of the Disclosure Novel cyclopropylmethylamine compounds of the formula: Image wherein R1 and R2 are each hydrogen or halogen and R3 is hydrogen or methyl, and their non-toxic salts, which can be produced by reduction of the corresponding compounds of the formula: Image wherein R1 and R2 are each as defined above and X is a convention- al leaving group, with methylamine or dimethylamine. The leaving group is a group which easily splits off from the diphenylcyclo- propylmethyl compound during the reaction and can typically be halogen or a sulfonyloxy. The compounds exhibit various phar- macological properties and all particularly useful as antide- pressants and/or anorexics since the compounds antagonize the central nervous system depressant effects of tetrabenazine and reserpine.
