ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fastening for securing hook and eye, stud, button, etc. to a garment, comprising a base, and at least two spikes project- ing from the base for driving through the garment. Each of the spikes has a groove extending longitudinally thereof. After being driven through a garment, the spike is clenched at its pointed end to take a hasp at the underside of the garment. The groove is formed preferably by cold pressing so that the spike is made harder in a region around the groove than other regions thereof.
