ABSTRACT A process is disclosed for the preparation of 5-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-1,4-dimethylpyrrole-2-acetic acid which is effected by heating 5-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-1,4- dimethyl-3-carboxypyrrole-2-acetic acid in the presence of a base. The compound is a known analgesic and anti- inflammatory agent.
