ABSTRACT: A method of and a welding torch for plasma MIG-welding in which the same gas is used as a shielding gas and a plasma gas. A single gas flow supplied is split in the nozzle into a cylindrical plasma gas column and a shielding gas jacket which envelopes this column. To this end, the nozzle comprises a central electrode ring which serves as a non-consumable electrode and which is connected by radical ribs to a cylindrical support which serves as a heat sink and which is mounted on the housing of the welding torch. -10-
