SOLVENT EXTRACTION PROCESS AND MIXER-SETTLER UNIT THEREFOR Abstract of the Disclosure A method and settling tank for effecting phase separation in a solvent extraction process wherein material of mixed liquid phase is caused to flow radially outwardly from a main supply position into the settling tank for passage towards a peripheral part of the tank through one or more coalescer units spaced from the supply position and extending transversely across the whole of the radial flow so as to surround the supply position either wholly or in part. The main supply position is a mixer tank outlet substantially wholly surrounded by the coalescer unit or units of the settling tank.
