PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 5-AMINO-2- PROPARGYLOXY-N-n-BUTYLBENZAMIDE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The preparation of 5-amino-2-propargyloxy-N-n- butylbenzamide is effected by intially forming 5-nitro-2- propargyloxy-N-n-butylbenzamide, which itself is a novel product, from 5-nitro-2-chlorobenzoic acid, and there- after reducing the nitro group to an amino group. The product, commonly known as parsalamide, possesses a good anti-inflammatory analgesic and muscle-relaxant activity.
