ABSTRACT Dispensing apparatus for dispensing liquid into water mainstream including a mainstream passageway for transmission of mainstream from an inlet to an outlet end, and a dispensing reservoir at least partially surrounding the mainstream passageway between the inlet and outlet ends. An inlet passageway extends between an opening into the mainstream passageway and an opening into the reservoir, and an outlet passageway extends between an opening into the mainstream passageway and an opening into the reservoir, Control means is provided to close and open at least one of the inlet and outlet passageways. During use, a portion of water mainstream is diverted along the inlet passageway into the reservoir, liquid in the reservoir passing along the outlet passageway from the reservoir to the mainstream passageway. The apparatus further includes a wet cleaning device having a housing defining the passageways and the dispensing reservoir, a brush support mounted on the housing for rotation about its longitudinal axis, a set of brush bristles mounted in the brush support, and impeller members spaced apart about a peripheral edge of the brush support and extending radially outwardly therefrom. The mainstream passageway outlet end is arranged to direct water and entrained liquid issuing therefrom to impinge on successive ones of the impeller members causing the brush support to rotate and thereafter flow to a surface on which the set of brush bristles bear to wet clean the surface.
