ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an adhesive foil for dental prosthesis comprising a compressed fibre mat containing a dry adhesive which swells on contact with moisture in the mouth, the fibres being interconnected by an adhesive, which is not dissolved by moisture in the mouth, the concentration of adhesive being greater in the central cross-sectional region of the mat than in the regions near the surface. The present invention also provides a method of manufacturing an adhesive foil for dental prosthesis, wherein a main layer of fibre mat is impreg- nated with an adhesive which swells on contact with moisture of the mouth and stuck together under pressure, the main layer or at least that side of it containing a higher concentration of adhes- ive, is secured under pressure to a cover layer free from adhesive.
