ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A glow discharge lamp for qualitative and quantitative spectrum analysis having a discharge chamber closable on the cathode side by an elec- trically conductive disk at cathodic potential in which, to increase the lum- inous intensity and the accuracy of the analysis, a ring magnet of permanent magnet material magnetized in axial direction for producing a magnetic field extending substantially in axial direction in the discharge chamber is pro- vided and a control electrode which is insulated from the anode body is pro- vided.
