ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is directed to a fluid filter having one or more filter elements each comprising cellular material the cells of which are filled with activated carbon granules or particles and which are closed at their ends by air- permeable layers which are secured to the cellular material with the inter-position of plastics-coated grilles, in which the cellular material, the said layers of air-permeable material and the grilles are all made of non-metallic materials or sub- stances which are capable of being entirely consumed by burning once the filter has been placed in an incinerator.
