-16- "HITCH ATTACHMENT OF GRAIN AUGERS TO TRACTORS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In one embodiment an auger assembly is connected to the three-point hitch of a tractor and includes a transverse wheel assembly with ground engaging wheels on each end with the wheel axle supporting the auger assembly in which the in- take end can be raised or lowered by means of a hydraulic pis- ton and cylinder, to the desired height, pivoting around the wheel axis with the connection to the three-point extending from the axle assembly. In a second embodiment, a fixed member extends from one side of the wheel axle assembly and is pivo- tally connected to the hitch bar at the rear of the tractor. This embodiment includes a stabilizer bar extending from adja- cent the front end of the auger assembly to a point on the front of the tractor frame. If desired a castor wheel assembly can be provided adjacent the front of the auger assembly, depend- the ing downwardly therefrom. This device permits/easy transpor- tation of the auger assembly and ease of quickly connecting and disconnecting same to the tractor and at the same time the drive can be from the power takeoff of the tractor.
