Abstract of the Disclosure A method for preparing polyetherimides is provided involving the reaction between an organo bis(fluorophthal- imide) and an alkali metal salt of a dihydric phenol in the presence of a dipolar aprotic organic solvent. The poly- etherimides made by the afore-described method can be employed as injection molding compounds and to make wire coating formulations.
