ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cleaning apparatus is provided for filter bags of the kind in which dust-containing air is passed through the side walls of the filters into their interiors. In cleaning the filter, scavenging air is led for a short period to the interiors of the filters. Inlets for the scavenging air are located opposite the filter outlets. A sealing plate covers the inlets but has one or more apertures, and the sealing plate is rotatable to permit flow of scavenging air as an aperture uncovers an inlet.
