Abstract of the Disclosure A snap fastener is disclosed which is resistant to accidental opening but can be easily opened by an appropriate application of pressure. It has male and female parts and is characterized in that the female part comprises two ring like elements placed above and below a flexible lamina on which they are to be fixed. One of these elements has pin-like lugs and the other element has a cylindrical cavity which terminates in a conical part. When the parts have been aligned and are pressed toward one another, the lugs penetrate the flexible lamina and are guided by the cylindrical part of the opposed element and are folded outwardly by the conical part and are finally directed into a cavity provided for this purpose, whereby the two ring-like elements are coupled together on opposite sides of the flexible lamina without any need for the cutting of a hole in the lamina. The upper element of the female part is formed by two pieces which are united and contain between them a movable locking piece which functions as a push-button to facilitate the opening of the fastener while at the same time constituting a decorative element of the combination.
