Abstract: A power supply circuit for applying a rapidly varying high voltage to a penetron-type cathode ray tube (1) for a colour display system comprises a first voltage generator (2) for supplying a constant high voltage to the anode (3) and a second voltage generator (4) for supplying a voltage, varying in magnitude with the different colours to the cathode (5). The latter voltage, varying in magnitude with the different colours, is modulated with the video signals to be displayed.
