ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Thiazolylidene-oxo-propionitriles of the general formula Image (I) in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C6- alkyl group, a thienyl group, a pyridyl group, a phenyl group, or a phenyl group substituted by one or more substituents select- ed from C1-C4-alkyl groups, C1-C4-alkoxy groups, and halogen atoms, R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a C1-C6- alkyl group, and R3 represents an unsubstituted phenyl group or a phenyl group substituted by one or more substituents selected from C1-C4-alkyl groups, C1-C4-alkoxy groups, halogen atoms and trifluorometbyl groups and their manufacture. The compounds have an insecticidal action, especially against pests from the orders of Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera and Rhynchota, and accordingly may be made up with suitable carriers into insecticidal prepara- tions and may be used for protecting living plants and loci against insects.
