ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For the preparation of interpolymers of ethylene with one or more polyneic hydrocarbons, at least one unsaturation of said polyenes belongs to a polycyclic system, a catalyst system is disclosed which comprises at least a vanadium compound in which the vanadium valency is more than two, one or more hydrocarbyl-alu- minus halide and one or more compounds selected from among those containing a -CC13 group, hexachlorocyclo- pentadiene and thinyl chloride. Interpolymers having novel structure and outstanding properties can thus be prepared. Such interpolymers are sulfur-curable.
