ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is provided for preparing polyolefins using an improved polymerization catalytic agent. The polyolefins are provided by polymerizing or copolymerizing olefins using as a catalytic agent an organometallic ?ompound of a metal of Group I-IV of the Periodic Table, and a catalyst one selected from the group consisting of [1] a substance obtained by copulverizing in an inert gas atmosphere (A) a magnesium dihalide, (B) an aluminum compound represented by the general formula Al(OR)3 wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical and may be the same or different, and (C) a tetravalent titanium compound; and [II] a substance obtained by copulverizing in an inert gas atmosphere the aboved described (A) and (B) as well as (D) a solid titanium compound and/or vanadium compound. The use of such catalyst provides a process which is extremely economical, and provides a polymer whose bulk density is high.
