ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multilamp photoflash unit having at least a pair of flashlamps, an electrical circuit arranged to fire the lamps individually and in sequence and a solid state radiation switch external of the lamps and adjacent thereto wherein the switch comprises an admixture of silver carbonate and/or silver oxide, electrically nonconductive inert particulate solids, a binder and not more than 10% by weight of sodium-containing material whereby the switch composition is desenistized by the sodium-containing material to avoid "burn-off" and/or "melt-through" of overlying insulating sheets.
