Abstract of The Disclosure Salts of N-phosphonomethylglycine are produced by forming a salt of N-phosphononomethyliminodiacetlc acid with a salt-forming cation in an aqueous medium and then oxidizing the salt solution with an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an activated carbon or noble metal oxidation catalyst.
