A B S T R A C T A process for the preparation of polyurethane foam by reacting, under foam-forming conditions, a hydroxyl component comprising at least one hydroxyl-group containing organic compound with an organic polyiso- cyanate component, wherein the number average functionality of the reaction mixture is in the range of from 1.8 to 2.7 and the reactive group content of the reaction mixture is in the range of from 6 to 11.
