ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a method for pro- tecting sound records and the labels and/or packages thereof against imitation, in which individual character- izing data are marked on said labels and/or packages, characterized in that an additional characterizing or distinctive mark is applied to the labels, packages or sound records corresponding to the individual character- izing data in coded form, that the labels, packages or records are verified whether there is coincidence between the coded characterizing data and the additional charac- terizing or distinctive mark and that an imitation is detected in case a plurality of labels, packages or sound records have the same characterizing data or the same additional characterizing or distinctive marks.
