ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stranding head for stranding individual strand elements or strand elements collected together in bunches including a deflection roller with a running surface having a concave profile, around which each strand element to be stranded is passed, and which is rotatably mounted in a frame which is adapted to rotate about the path of the strand elements through the stranding head, the deflection roller being rotatable about an axis which is inclined with respect to a line perpendicular to the path of the strand elements.
