Abstract of the Disclosure An unsaturated polyester is produced by reacting a dicarboxylic acid anhydride with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a reaction product of a dicarboxylic acid and dicyclopentadiene. The unsaturated polyester thus obtained affords a cured polyester resin having well balanced properties of mechanical strength and boiling-water resistance.
