GRAFT POLYMERS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for the preparation of graft polymers from ethylene homopolymers or copolymers and olefinically unsaturat- ed monomers, especially from ethylene/vinyl ester copolymers, in the presence of a radical forming agent in homogenous or heterogeneous phase, in which a mixture of (meth)acrylonitrile, at least one aromatic vinyl compound and vinylchloride are polymerized in the presence of an ethylene homopolymer or copolymer. The products obtained contain no ungrafted styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer and more than 80% by weight of the graft polymer is chemically almost uniform in structure. The products obtained according to the invention are eminently suitable for use as coating materials and as materials which can be thermoplastically processed.
