ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds of the general formula (II): Image (II) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed wherein X is an alkylene group of 2-4 carbon atoms; Y is an oxygen or sulphur atom or a CH2 group; R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group; R2 is a hydrogen atom, a C1-6 alkyl, phenyl, tolyl or benzyl group or R2 is linked to R1 so that the NR1R2 moiety is a 5-, 6- or 7- membered ring; R3 is an aryl or aralkyl group; R4 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group; and R5 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group. These compounds have mood- modifying activity and also reduce appetite. Methods of preparation of the compounds are also disclosed.
