ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a sawmill which includes a conveyor means for conducting timbers and other elongate bodies along a path to a preselected location, and a deck assembly adjacent the location for receiving and holding the bodies. The improvement in combination therewith comprises stacking means disposed adjacent the location and having arcuately movable arm members extending from the deck assembly to the conveyor means for receiving and laterally supporting the bodies arriving at the location. A shifting means is fixed in a substantially hori- zontal plane and is associated with the stacking means and extends across the path of travel of the conveyor means for shifting the bodies received into the arm members toward the deck assembly. A driving means rotates the arm members of the stacking means about an axis adjacent the deck assembly to deposit the bodies onto the deck assembly.
