ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An external lubricant composition for lubricating vinyl polymers comprising a blend of: (a) from about 60 to 99 percent by weight of an alpha-olefin having; (1) an average molecular weight of from about 350 to 900, (2) a minimum congealing point of 120°F determined by ASTM D-938, (3) a minimum iodine value of 30, and (4) a maximum Brookfield viscosity at 257°F of 100 centipoises; and (b) from about 1 to 40 percent by weight of an oxidized low molecular weight polyethylene having an average molecular weight of less than about 5,000. The invention also relates to vinyl polymers, such as polyvinyl chloride, containing such external lubricants.
