PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation du (1R,5S) 6,6-diméthyl 4(R) [(S)-cyano (3'-phénoxy phényl) méthoxy] 3-oxa bicyclo (3-1-0) hexan-2-one, caractérisé en ce que l'on soumet un mélange de (1R,5S) 6,6-diméthyl 4(R) [(S)-cyano (3'- phénoxy phényl)méthoxy] 3-oxa-bicyclo (3-1-0) hexan-2-one et de (1R,5S) 6,6-diméthyl 4(R) [(R)-cyano (3'-phénoxy phényl)méthoxy] 3-oxa bicyclo (3-1-0) hexan-2-one, à l'action d'un agent basique qui est choisi dans le groupe constitué par l'ammoniaque, la triéthylamine, la diéthylamine, la morpholine, la pyrrolidine, la pipéridine, et , utilisés en quantité catalytique, la soude, la potasse, les alcoolates alcalins, les amidures alcalins et les hydrures alcalins, au sein d'un solvant dans lequel le (1R,5S) 6,6,-diméthyl 4(R) [S-cyano (3'-phénoxy phényl) méthoxy ] 3-oxa bicyclo (3-1-0) hexan-2-one est insoluble et sépare ce dernier composé par insolubilisation. Le procécé de l'invention est particulièrement avantageux par sa simplicité et par son rendement inattendu qui correspond à l'obtention d'un éther dias- téréoisomère en quantité supérieure à celle contenue dans le mélange d'éthers diastéréoisomères de départ.
