ABSTRACT Novel hormonally, particularly progestationally active D-homosteroids possess the general formula Image (I) wherein R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom or R1 and R2 together represent a 1.alpha.,2.alpha.-methylene group or a carbon-carbon bond; R6 represents a hydrogen, fluorine or chlorine atom or the methyl group; R17a represents a hydroxy, acyloxy, alkoxy or lower alkyl group; R10 represents the methyl group or, when R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom, R10 can also represent a hydrogen atom; R21 represents a hydrogen, fluorine or chlorine atom and the broken line in the 6,7-position denotes an optional carbon-carbon bond. The novel D-homosteroids can be obtained by various methods.
