ABSTRACT An apparatus and method for developing both black and white and color photographic film using adjacently disposed elongated vertical tanks mounted in an enclosed housing. Each tank adapted to contain a selected film treating fluid agent. The film to be pho- tographically processed is attached to a carrier having a magnetic element mounted thereon. The carrier with the trailing film is inserted into an infeed port In the front of the housing which is adjacent to one of the terminal tanks. An endless chain mounted on chain sprockets having magnets mounted thereon is disposed adjacent the outer sides of said tanks and is magnetically respon- sive to the magnetic element mounted on the carrier. The film is processed by the carrier being magnetically guided by the magnets mounted on the endless chain through the sequence of tanks and our a discharge port in the rear of the housing.
