ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A new improved catalyst system for alpha-olefin type polymer- izations includes a metal alkyl compound selected from the group consisting of R2WY or R3W and organomagnesium compound R'MgX in combination with a Group IVB-VIII transition metal compound. The improved catalyst system pre- vides both increased polymerization activity and polymers having a high degree of isotactic stereoregularity.
